On April 23^rd, 2011, Shivani and Naveen celebrated the final of their three days of wedding festivities. After navigating his white horse through downtown Chicago, Naveen continued into the Palmer House for the traditional Indian ceremony. Guests walked into the Red Lacquer Ballroom and were awed by the elegant decorations created by Yanni Design. Sabrina Hans planned every detail from the beautiful ceremony to the unforgettable reception. Throughout this amazing day, R.E.M. photographers and videographers were on hand to capture every smile, every tear, and every moment that you never want to forget.

Music for Wedding Video Highlights

Each video that we produce at R.E.M. includes many different components that help you to remember every special moment of your wedding day. Not only do we use our videos to recreate the sights and sounds of the day, but we try to convey the emotions that were felt as well. Some very important tools in this process are the songs used in the highlight reel.

These song choices are completely up to you and can really set the tone for each part of the highlight.

The first section includes the Pre Ceremony happenings and we usually recommend an instrumental piece or just something a little more romantic sounding. The second portion of the highlight is a montage of the Post Ceremony activities, mostly your photo shoot. For this part of the video, we recommend a vocal track that is something both fun and romantic, like Michael Bublé or Frank Sinatra. The final section of your highlight is the Reception. For this part, just pick something fun that you both really love.

By customizing your song choice, you get to add your own creative flair to the video. You decide whether it’s going to be low-key and romantic or upbeat and fun or a combination of the two!

Engagement Session Tips

Engagement photos are an important part of the wedding planning. Not only do they reflect the two of you and your love for each other, but they can be used in a variety of ways to prepare for your big day. Also this is a fantastic way for you and your photographer to get to know each other before your big wedding.

The best way to start is to decide how you want the final overall look and feel of the photos to turn out. This is different for every couple, but it is definitely a decision that you need to make before the ball really gets rolling. At R.E.M., we try to find a photographer that will match your personalities and really listen to your thoughts and ideas.

A very important aspect of your engagement shoot is the variety of locations you choose. You should pick places that would either look really nice in the photo or places that are special to you as a couple for one reason or another. By choosing different locations that have some type of connection to your relationship, you’ll be able to be much more genuine during your shoot and you’re almost guaranteed to appreciate them more in the long run. Some great places that could potentially make your list of locations are: where you first met, had your first date, got engaged, a restaurant, coffee shop, the bowling alley, the beach or any other location that you frequent as a couple, a striking landscape or skyline that is nearby, a location with really bright and vibrant colors, somewhere that would be the last place that you would think of getting your engagement photos taken; an abandoned warehouse or old streets.

Before you actually head out to the shoot, you both need to decide what you’re going to wear. Your style and personality will decide this but usually it's recommended to stay away from crazy patterns and logos. Solid colors work best.

Finally, be sure to enjoy the entire process. Be prepared to do a lot of smiling, kissing, and nose rubbing because these are what help create some of the most amazing shots you’ll take.The more fun you both have, the better your engagement photos will turn out, I can guarantee you that!

Now that you have done this really fun photo shoot, you can use your favorite photos in different ways: use them in your "Save the Date" cards, in the wedding program, your guestbook, or have a few photos from the engagement session framed and display them at the reception.

Jessica and Brian had a very fun wedding! We are very proud to showcase their wedding pictures. Their wedding ceremony was at OLPH Church in Glenview.

Their photo location was on Wagner's Farm in Glenview. My kids love this place. We were there hundreds of times. So seeing wedding pictures from that location was quite exciting.

The reception was at the Sunset Ridge Golf Club. The golf course has a beautiful background for pictures. Jessica and Brian are a very beautiful couple and they received outstanding pictures, very original. These wedding pictures inspired me to create a wedding album. Please check this out!

All the best to the lovely couple Clara and Daniel. Their wedding was on May 23rd, 2010 at the Mansion on Dover Street in Chicago. Very interesting place for small parties. Everything took place at one location; dressing, ceremony and reception. The weather was great for an outside ceremony. And the pictures turned out beautifully.

Time flies so fast, especially with the wedding season.

In the month of April, we did a couple great weddings.

Anne and Brian's Wedding on April 17, 2010.

The ceremony took place at St. Hedwigs Church in Chicago, and reception was at Salvage One.

This was a very original place for doing a non traditional wedding. The bride and groom put so much work into all the beautiful details. That's what made this wedding so special. Also the outstanding surroundings made for great pictures.

This year R.E.M. decided to pick one wedding every month and share it with you. Our choice for the month of March is Aparna and Jonathan's wedding.

The Ceremony was held in the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago, Lemont on March 6th. I always admired the beautiful temple when driving by.

The ceremony site and reception were decorated by Yanni Design. The wedding was coordinated by Sabrina Events. Both companies always do a superb job.

The reception was at Drury Lane in Oak Brook Terrace.

Our company produced their video in HD and provided photography services on this wedding.

Everything went very well. The pictures look beautiful!

The following week, Aparna and Jonathan exchanged their vows again in a Chapel in Boston. Our crew flew to Boston to document the event.

It was a great wedding and great experience for R.E.M. working on such a large project with such nice people.

We wish all the best for Aparna and Jonathan in their new lives together.
